James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor

I was acknowledged as a regular customer at the front desk and as such my room was upgraded. My previous stays at JC have been for work purposes and therefore paid by my employer but this particular night was a personal choice and therefore paid for by myself so i appreciated it more and really liked the fact that the staff at the front desk recognised and acknowledged me. Great location right in the heart of the CBD, really comfy bedding the pillows were excellent, the room was modern and very clean. Good Parking and great view of the harbor from the club lounge on our floor, we got a cookie and tea served at night on floor 26 which was a nice touch as well. Overall I would recommend for a weekend get-away in Wellington.

The hotel looks unappealing from outside, but the inside was a pleasant surprise. My room had a lovely view from the 26th floor down the Terrace and across to the Hutt Valley, and it was spacious and comfortable. The snack platter and pre-dinner tea and biscuits delivery were nice touches. Brand new bathroom was very nice too. Lifts down to Lambton Quay were very handy.

Room was fabulous with a semi view over the waterfront. Staff were always helpful and friendly. Absolutely brilliant location as straight down to Lampton Quay and across the road for starbucks. Buses right on the doorstep of Lampton Quay, short stroll to the waterfront. Great selection of restaurants.

We had an amazing two-day stay! The hotel is conveniently located close to everything: the cable car, the waterfront, New World food store, and plenty of restaurants. Our room was spacious, bright, and impeccably clean. It was equipped with an electric kettle, fridge, and microwave, which made our stay even more comfortable. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, and both check-in and check-out were a breeze. The breakfast offered a wide variety of options, including gluten-free choices, which was greatly appreciated. Highly recommend this hotel for its location, cleanliness, and outstanding service!
